Prescription Fees

Prescription prepayment certificates (PPC) are available in England and they can save you money.

Prescription costs as of April 1 2023

• The current prescription charge is £9.65
• A three monthly PPC is £31.25. This saves you money if you need more than three prescribed items in three months.
• A 12 month certificate is £111.60.  This saves you money if you need more than twelve prescribed items in a year.

PPCs are available by 10 monthly direct debit instalment payments. The prescription prepayment certificates allow anyone to obtain all the prescriptions they need for £2 per week.

New for 2023! HRT-only prepayment certificate

To cover the cost of HRT prescriptions only for a period of 12 months, you can purchase an NHS Hormone Replacement Therapy Prescription Prepayment Certificate for the cost of 2 standard prescription charges (£19.30). For more information click here
